“Good Person Test” Evangelism Resource
“HOW TO GIVE THE “GOOD TEST” is a “cheat-sheet” (so to speak) made up by SO4J-TV to help Believers “take people through” what is known as the “GOOD PERSON TEST”– which is apart of the Biblical Evangelism Resources from Ray Comfort’s “Living Waters Ministries”. This little “cheat-sheet” was made up by SO4J-TV…but all the INFO on this page comes from Ray Comfort’s Biblical Evangelism. This webpage: “HOW TO TAKE THE GOOD TEST” was compiled by Martha Mac of SO4J.com / SO4J-TV. For MORE INFO go to: BIBLICAL EVANGELISM and also “THE GOOD PERSON TEST“

W – “Would You Consider Yourself To Be A Good Person?”
ASK – Would you consider yourself to be a Good Person?” They Say Yes or No
D – “Do You Think You’ve Kept The 10 Commandments?”
ASK – “Do you think you’ve kept the 10 Commandments?” They Say Yes or No. YOU SAY –“Let me ask you about 4 of them.” Then you take them through 4 out of the 10 of God’s Commandments (Exodus 20:3-17).
Lie
ASK – “Have you ever told a Lie?” They’ll Answer “Yes”
You Say “What does that make you–and me too?” They’ll Say “A LIAR“
STOLEN
ASK – “Have you ever Stolen anything? A paper clip, a pencil, have you stolen time from work…anything?” They’ll Eventually Say “YES” YOU SAY – “What does that make you?” They’ll Say “a THIEF”
ADULTERY
SAY – Matt. 5:27-28 Jesus says, “If anyone even looks at a woman with Lust in his eye has already committed Adultery with her in his Heart.” ASK -“Have you ever looked at someone with Lust?” They Say – “YES” (Lust = Adultery)
MURDER
ASK– “Have you ever Hated anyone, or been really Angry? They say “YES”
SAY – 1 John 3:15 says, “Anyone who Hates his brother is a Murderer.” (Hate & Anger = Murder)
Matt 5:21-22 Jesus says, “You have heard that our Ancestors were told, ‘You must not murder. If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment.’ But I say, if you are even Angry with someone, you are subject to Judgment! If you call someone an Idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in Danger of the Fires of Hell.”
ADMISSION
SAY – “So by your own Admission you are a: Liar, a Thief, an Adulterer (at heart), a Murderer (at heart)”
J – Judgment
SAY -Heb 9:27 says, “It is appointed for men to die once, and after this comes the Judgment.” So if God were to Judge you by His Commandments, would you be GUILTY or INNOCENT of breaking any of His Commandments?” They Say – “Guilty!”
FYI – James 2:10 “The person who keeps all of the Laws except one is as Guilty as a person who has broken all of God’s Laws.”
Judgment & Consequences For Sin Scriptures
SAY – Rev 21:8 says, “All Liars & Murderers will be cast into the Lake of Fire.”
1 Cor 6:9 “Thieves & Adulterers shall not inherit the Kingdom of God”
Heb 12:14 says, “Without Holiness no one shall see God!”
FYI – It Is Not Enough To Be A “Good Person” or Be Sorrowful For Sins – Give This Example:
If you were standing in a Court of Law and the Judge says to you “Okay, you Lied, You Stole, You Murdered, etc. any last words before I sentence you to “Jail” (Hell). And they say, “Judge, I’m Sorry, I Repent…I was a Good Person…I “Accepted” You!” The Judge would say back to them “You should have been Sorry & you should have been a Good Person, and you should have “Accepted Me and My Laws,” but you’re still going to Jail (Hell)!”
2 Cor 7:10 says, “The kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.”
If They Should Say – “God is a Loving God, and would never send anyone to Hell”
SAY – “Should Murderers & Rapists be set free and go unpunished? A Just Judge punishes Crime (sin), only a corrupt Judge let’s Murderers, and Rapists go free. God is that Just Judge.”
D – Destiny
SAY – “So knowing that you are GUILTY (and so am I and so is everyone else), according to the Bible Would you go to Heaven or Hell based on your Guilt, and what the Bible Says?” (Not based upon Jesus’ death on the cross…we’re getting to that.)Get them to understand the Bad News that we’ve all sinned and broken God’s Commandments…we all deserve Hell. Ezek 18:20 says. “The soul that sins shall die.”Rom 3:23 “All have sinned…” Rom 6:23 “Wages of Sin is Death…”
Grace To The Humble
After giving them the “Bad News” (Sin = Eternal Death) now they can better understand the “Good News”…otherwise we throw our “Pearls” (the Good News) before Swine (unrepentant hard-hearted people).
Matt 7:6 Jesus says, “Do not give what is Holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.”

Concern
ASK – “Does that concern you that you would go to Hell?”
You want them to be concerned, as we all should be concerned.
C – Cross
SAY – “Jesus did something really special for you so that we don’t have to go to Hell. We did a Crime (sin), and Jesus paid our Fine. Example: He (Jesus) walked into our Courtroom on this earth and told the Judge “I am an Attorney, and I sold everything I own to come up with this $100,000 fine….so I would like to pay the fine for (Name of Person) so that she/he can go free. She/He did a Crime, I want to pay their fine.”
Luke 13:3 Jesus says, “You will also Perish (Hell) unless you Repent of your Sins and Turn to God.”
Once we Repent & Trust in Jesus, he gives us that “Robe of Righteousness” (Isaiah 61:10) and we become Born-Again (John 3:3).Jesus took the Punishment that we deserve so that we could go free. This Free Gift (Eph.2:8-9) only applies to you personally if you ‘Repent & Trust in Jesus’. (Mark 1:15, Matt 4:17, Matt 18:3-4, Acts 17:30-31)
R – Repentance
