Facts & Info about the Bible
The Bible is a Collection of 66 Books, and was written by God thru Men (about 40 Men) over a period of about 1550 Years dating from 1450 B.C. (the time of Moses) to about 100 A.D. following the Death & Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Bible Facts
- The Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered off the Northwest Shore of the Dead Seas in 1947 (between 1947 and 1956) in Qumran (near Jerusalem) by a Shepherd who discovered some of the many of these Scrolls in a cave. They then found Tens of Thousands of fragmented Scrolls in Eleven caves. These Scrolls date back from 250 B.C. to A.D. 68 and Represent roughly around 900 different documents.
- The First Translation of the English Bible was initiated by John Wycliffe 1382
and completed by John Purvey—1388. - The Bible has been translated into 2,018 languages, with countless more partial translations,
and audio translations - The Bible was written in three languages: Hebrew, Aramaic, and Koine Greek.
- The Bible was divided into chapters by Stephen Langton in 1228.
- The Old Testament was divided into verses by R. Nathan in 1488 and the New Testament
by Robert Stephanus in 1551. - The entire Bible divided into Chapters and Verses first appeared in the Geneva Bible of 1560.
- The entire New Testament as we know it today, was “Canonized” before the year 375 A.D.
- The Old Testament had previously been Canonized long before the advent of Christ.
- The word “Canon” comes front the Greek word “Kanon,” meaning a Measuring Rod.
So to have the Bible “Canonized” meant that it had been measured by the standard or test of
divine inspiration and authority. It is the collection of writings or books accepted by the
Apostles and leadership of the early Christian Church as a basis for Christian belief. - Today the Bible is the largest seller of all books published

Bible Scriptures – God’s Word
Video: Can We Trust the Bible? – Way of the Master TV
- Romans 10:17 (NASB) “FAITH comes by HEARING, and HEARING by the WORD of CHRIST.”
- Hebrews 11:6 (NASB) “WITHOUT FAITH it is IMPOSSIBLE to PLEASE HIM (GOD), for he who comes to God must BELIEVE that He is and that HE is a REWARDER of those who (NKJV says: DILIGENTLY seek Him) SEEK HIM.”
- Psalm 1:1-2 (NASB) “How BLESSED is the man who walks NOT in the COUNSEL of the WICKED (NKJV says: UNGODLY), NOR stands in the PATH of SINNERS, NOR sit in the seat of the SCOFFERS; But his DELIGHT is in the LAW of the LORD, and in His law he MEDITATES DAY and NIGHT.”
- Joshua 1:8 (NASB) “This BOOK of the LAW shall NOT depart from your mouth, but you shall MEDITATE on it DAY and NIGHT, so that you may be CAREFUL to do according to ALL that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.”
- 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV) “ALL SCRIPTURE is given by INSPIRATION of GOD, & is PROFITABLE for DOCTRINE, for REPROOF, for CORRECTION, for INSTRUCTION in RIGHTEOUSNESS, that the man of God may be COMPLETE, thoroughly equipped for every GOOD WORK.”
- 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) “STUDY to show yourself APPROVED unto God, a WORKMAN that needs not to be ASHAMED, RIGHTLY dividing the WORD of TRUTH.“
- 2 Peter 1:20-21 (NKJV) “Knowing this first, that NO PROPHECY of SCRIPTURE is of any PRIVATE INTERPRETATION, for PROPHECY never came by the will of men but HOLY MEN of GOD spoke as they were by the HOLY SPIRIT.”
- Psalm 119:11 (KJV) “YOUR WORD have I HID in my HEART, that I might NOT SIN against YOU.”
- 1 Corinthians 2:12-13 (NKJV) “Now we have received, NOT the SPIRIT of the WORLD, but the SPIRIT who is from GOD, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which MAN’S WISDOM TEACHES but which the HOLY SPIRIT TEACHES, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.”
- Hebrews 4:12-16 (NLT) “For the WORD OF GOD is ALIVE and POWERFUL. It is SHARPER than the SHARPEST TWO-EDGED SWORD, cutting between SOUL and SPIRIT, between JOINT and MARROW. It EXPOSES our INNERMOST THOUGHTS and DESIRES. NOTHING in all Creation is hidden from God. Everything is NAKED and EXPOSED before His Eyes, and He is the one to whom we are ACCOUNTABLE. So then, since we have a GREAT HIGH PRIEST who has entered HEAVEN, JESUS the SON OF GOD, let us HOLD FIRMLY to what we BELIEVE. This HIGH PRIEST of ours UNDERSTANDS our WEAKNESSES, for He Faced ALL of the same TESTINGS we do, yet he did NOT SIN. So let us come BOLDLY to the THRONE of our GRACIOUS GOD. There we will receive HIS MERCY, and we will find GRACE to HELP US when we need it most.”
