Judging Others— Should Christians Judge? Are Christians to Judge other Christians? What does the Bible say about Judging others? Are we to Name the Names of False Teachers & False Prophets? We are NOT to Judge a person's MOTIVES (Matthew 7:1), but we ARE to Judge a Fellow Christian's: FRUIT / ACTIONS (Matthew 7:15-20,John 7:24,1 Cor 5:12–13) to make sure they're NOT Teaching & Living Contrary to God's Word, and Essential Christian Doctrine is Correct. Apostle Paul judged 8 Times,& Named the Names of 8 False Converts in 2nd Timothy - Go Here.
We also encourage you to further read a short article called: BEWARE OF FALSE TEACHERS.
- Romans 16:17 (KJV) “MARK THEM which cause DIVISIONS & OFFENCES CONTRARY TO THE DOCTRINE which you have learned; and AVOID them.”

DISCERNMENT
Quote: "DISCERNMENT is NOT knowing the difference between RIGHT and WRONG. It is knowing the difference between RIGHT and ALMOST RIGHT."— Charles Haddon Spurgeon, Reformed Baptist Preacher, Britain (1834 - 1892) Do you have BIBLICAL DISCERNMENT & COMPARE what you're being TAUGHT with GOD's WORD? There's just enough TRUTH in what False Teachers say to come across as being Credible & Biblical. That's why Jesus warns, "Beware of the False Prophets"! (Matt 7:15-20) - Matt 7:15-20 (NKJV) Jesus warns,"BEWARE of the FALSE PROPHETS, who COME TO YOU in SHEEP'S CLOTHING but INWARDLY are RAVENOUS WOLVES. You will KNOW them by their FRUITS." |

We are NOT to Judge a person's MOTIVES (Matt 7:1), but we ARE to Judge a Fellow Believer's & Teachers: FRUIT / ACTIONS (Matt 7:15-20, John 7:24, 1 Cor 5:12–13, 1 John 4:1); to make sure they're NOT Teaching CONTRARY to GOD'S WORD, and that the ESSENTIAL CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE is CORRECT, for the Protection of Gods People, His Sheep (John 10).
If a certain Bible Teacher continually Teaches error (re: Essential Christian Doctrine, etc) after they, the the Bible Teacher or Professing Christian, has been warned by the Body of Christ of this Error— it would be very UNLOVING & BIBLICALLY INCORRECT if we, God's People, didn’t lovingly WARN other FELLOW BROTHERS & SISTERS in Christ (like Jesus, Peter, Paul, etc. See below: Naming Names) of these BIBLICAL ERRORS. We are to WARN others out of LOVE for the TRUTH (Eph 4:15, Jude 1:1-4) & for the ETERNAL SAFETY of God's People, His Flock (Acts 20:28-32, 1 Peter 5:2-4, John 10). We Warn others of the DANGERS of these Teachings &/or False Teachers who are PREACHING & TEACHING things that are CONTRARY to God's Word— those who are keeping people Focused on this Life, on the BROAD PATH leading to Destruction (Hell) with their: Vague Watered-Down-gospel of Half-truths, etc. It does NOT matter what the INTENTIONS or MOTIVES of these Ministers are either— i.e. A False Teacher might be a WELL MEANING PERSON, who's Agenda might NOT be out to Intentionally hurt God's People. In fact they might believe 1000% that they are doing God's Work. But whether they're out to Deceive people on Purpose or Not, it doesn't matter— as this False Teacher might be a Victim of Satan's Lies himself— being that he is DUPED & DECEIVED! See More at this Link: BEWARE OF FALSE TEACHERS. And there are many Ministers who are NOT doing what God's Word Exhorts them to do and that is to GUARD the SHEEP (God's People, His Flock) that has been ENTRUSTED to THEM. (Acts 20:28-32, 1 Tim 6:20-21, 1 Peter 5:2-4).
We are to Warn and/or Lovingly Correct any Bible Teachers out there who are saying things that are CONTRARY to God's Word. Acts 20:26-32; Gal 1:6-9; 2 Tim 2:17-18, Eph 5:11, Ezek 3:17-19.

See Below: WHAT SHOULD OUR ATTITUDE BE WHEN WE SHARE BIBLICAL TRUTH?
We should be VIGILANT & DISCIPLINED in our STUDY of GOD's WORD (1 Tim 2:15) to be constantly SEARCHING & "EXAMINING THE SCRIPTURES" (Acts 17:11) closely to see if what we ourselves, and/or a Bible Teacher or Preacher is saying is TRUTH or not— OR is it TWISTING of the SCRIPTURE (whether deliberately or not), like Satan did in the Garden of Eden when he deceived Adam & Eve. We are to Examine what we are Teaching in light of the God's Word; that goes for us at SO4J-TV too.
FALSE TEACHER SCRIPTURES (some of the Many)—
Matt 7:15-20, Matt 24:4-5, Matt 24:11, Matt 24:23-26, Mark 13:22, Acts 20:29-32, Rom 16:17-18, 1 John 4:1-6, 2 Peter 2:1-3, 1 Tim 4:1,2 Tim 4:3-4, Titus 1:10-11,Gal 1:6-12, 2 Cor 11:13-15, Col 2:8, Col 2:18, 2 John 1:10-11,Matt 16:4, 2 Pet 2:18, Matt 7:21-23, Amos 8:11, 1 Tim 6:8-10, Jude 1:1-17, Deut 13:1-18, Deut 18:20-22, Jer 14:13-15, Jer 23:1-40, Rev 2:2-3, Rev 2:6
If A Preacher or Teacher is NOT Correctly Teaching Essential Christian Doctrine (the True Gospel of Jesus Christ, etc.) and the Teaching is keeping people focused on this Life & on the Broad Path to Hell, OR if they are Prophesying Falsely (Deut 13:1-18, Deut 18:20-22), we are to "MARK THEM" (NAME NAMES of False Teachers & Deceivers)— of which Paul did 8 TIMES in 2 Timothy seen below.
False Teachers must be SILENCED as Titus 1:10-14 rightly states. They are: Rebellious, Mere Talkers, and Deceivers:
The Apostle Paul "Name Names" of 8 Deceivers— for the Protection of the Church— in 2nd Timothy. Here are the 8 Deceivers:
1 - Phygellus - 2 Tim 1:15
2 - Hermogenes - 2 Tim 1:15
3 - Hymenaeus 2 Tim 2:17
4 - Philetus - 2 Tim 2:17
5 - Jannes - 2 Tim 3:8
6 - Jambres - 2 Tim 3:8
7 - Demas - 2 Tim 4:10
8 - Alexander the Coppersmith - 2 Tim 4:14
1 - Phygellus - 2 Tim 1:15 |
2 - Hemogenes - 2 Tim 1:15 |
3 - Hymenaeus - 2 Tim 1:17 |
4 - Philetus - 2 Tim 1:17 |
5 - Jannes - 2 Tim 3:8 |
6 - Jambres - 2 Tim 3:8 |
7 - Demas - 2 Tim 4:10 |
8 - Alexander the Coppersmith - 2 Tim 4:14 |
If Paul didn't make any Judgments, and warn fellow Believers about these various people in 2 Timothy (above), then some of the True Believers might have unknowingly gotten involved with these people, and led astray in their Worldly ways, etc.
Jesus Warned us about a Great Deception in the End Times (Matt 24:11), it is here, Right Now (2 Tim 4:3-4, 1 Tim 4:1). There are MANY Preachers who Preach a Feel Good gospel which keeps people on the BROAD PATH (Matt 7:13-14), and focused on this Temporal Life (2 Cor 4:17-18, Gal 1:6-12) vs what Jesus taught us in Luke 9:23-24; Matt 10:37-39.
We are to "Contend Earnestly for the Faith"!

We are NOT to Tolerate False Teaching— Jesus did NOT Tolerate False Teaching (Rev 2:2-3,6).
We are told ahead of time to BEWARE!
After Jude warns of False Teachers he tell us to "RESCUE OTHERS":
We are to "RESCUE" those who are unknowingly involving themselves in False Teachings / False gospel's. We RESCUE them by Preaching the TRUE GOSPEL.
When we JUDGE righteously (John 7:24) and/or CORRECT BAD DOCTRINE (2 Tim 4:1-5) we are to have a HUMBLE ATTITUDE (Phil 2:5-11)— "SPEAKING the TRUTH in LOVE" (Eph 4:15) while we CORRECT those that are in OPPOSITION to Biblcally Sound Doctrine (2 Tim 2:23-26). We do this with MEAKNESS & the FEAR of the LORD (1 Peter 3:15), showing GREAT PATIENCE (2 Tim 4:2) & "FRUITS of the SPIRIT" too (Gal 5:22-24).
Yes, Jesus told us to BEWARE of FALSE TEACHERS for a Reason.
A False Prophet or False Teacher does Not always come off as a False Teacher! In fact in Matt 7:15-23 Jesus told us that they are "WOLVES DISGUISED in SHEEP'S CLOTHING". So in other words a False Teacher might come across as a Nice person, Good Communicator, and have a Good Sense of Humor as well. They might be Well liked, Thoughtful, Full of Excellence, very Genuine, and might Say Thought Provoking things (with Scripture mixed in as well), that Motivates and/or Inspires you— and makes you want to get a Pen & Paper to write their Ideas down as quick as you can.
A False Teacher might be a well meaning person, who's agenda might Not be out to Intentionally hurt God's People. In fact they might believe 1000% that they are doing God's Work. But whether they're out to Deceive people on Purpose or Not, it doesn't matter— as this False Teacher might be a Victim of Satan's Lies himself!
Jesus told us to BEWARE for a Reason— because these False Teachers are DANGEROUS WOLVES (Acts 20:29-32, Matt 7:15-19). They lead people to Believe that are on the right Road to Heaven, when really these people are unknowingly on the BROAD PATH that leads to HELL (Matt 7:13-14)!
The False Teacher DOESN'T tell people the True Terms of the Gospel, as they'd prefer to WATER DOWN THE GOSPEL in order to be well liked.
The True Gospel is Convicting!
Jesus was Crucified, Peter, & Paul, and others were thrown into Prison for the True Gospel, Tortured & Suffered (2 Cor 11:23-30, 2 Cor 6:4-10), Murdered for their Faith in God & His Word, etc.
True Biblical Preaching & Teaching might sound like this from Jesus:
To Warn People about False Prophets & False Teachers is for the Safety of ALL, so that we do not become Deceived (Rev 12:9, Heb 3:13), and be Led Astray
(2 Cor 11:13-15,
2 John 1:10-11,
Jude 1:1-17).
May the Lord give us Discernment against False Teachers & False Teachings, and may we not be afraid to speak the Truth in Love (Eph 4:15).
Go Here: False Teachers: Videos, Articles, Audios - For a Summed-Up List of some of the MANY False Teachers out there. Watch & Listen for yourselves to: Video & Audio Clips, and Read Articles. Compare what they're saying with God's Word (Acts 17:11).

A CALL FOR DISCERNMENT
6 HOURS - 2 DVDs
In closing, here is an important note.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Not all Believers see eye to eye on many important Topics (i.e. KJV Only, etc), but that does NOT make each other a False Teacher. There are quite a number of Christian: Discernment Ministries, Websites, and Blog Sites who are WRONGLY LABELING TRUE BELIEVERS & GODLY MINISTERS as FALSE TEACHERS, because they have a difference of opinion on NON ESSENTIAL CHRISTIAN DOCTRINES which does NOT affect a person's Salvation. A True Believer is constantly growing in the Knowledge of the Scriptures (Acts 17:11), and none of us has arrived with perfect Knowledge (1 Cor 13:12-13); so we must show some GRACE & GREAT PATIENCE (2 Tim 4:2) to Fellow Believers who do not believe as you do on these NON ESSENTIAL CHRISTIAN DOCTRINES. That is our desire at SO4J-TV.
We do believe that we are to Name the Names of False Teachers & False Prophets so as to warn fellow Believers of the many Deceptions in the Church (1 Tim 1:3-6, Rom 16:17-18). We should however be reminded to be very careful not to make Judgments based on Non Essential Christian Doctrine— which does not affect ones Salvation.
We are not talking about those Ministers who are wrongly Prophesying Falsely (such as Benny Hinn), or who are Preaching the False Teachings of the Self-Esteem Prosperity gospel (Health & Wealth— see FALSE TEACHERS & FALSE PROPHETS - VIDEOS, AUDIOS, ARTICLES) for that truly is another gospel that is contrary to the Teachings of Christ - Gal 1:6-12.

Question: "What does the Bible mean that we are not to Judge others?"
Answer: This is an issue that has confused many people. On one hand, we are commanded by the Lord Jesus in Matthew 7:1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged”. On the other hand, the Bible also exhorts us to beware of evildoers and false prophets and to avoid those who practice all kinds of evil (Matthew 7:15-20). How are we to discern who these people are if we do not make some kind of judgment about them?
Christians are often accused of "judging" whenever they speak out against a sinful activity. However, that is not the meaning of the Scripture verses that state, "Do not judge." There is a righteous kind of judgment we are supposed to exercise—with careful discernment (John 7:24). When Jesus told us not to judge (Matthew 7:1), He was telling us not to judge hypocritically. Matthew 7:2-5 declares, "For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." What Jesus was condemning here was hypocritical, self-righteous judgments of others.
In Matthew 7:2-5, Jesus warns against judging someone else for his sin when you yourself are sinning even worse. That is the kind of judging Jesus commanded us not to do. If a believer sees another believer sinning, it is his Christian duty to lovingly and respectfully confront the person with his sin (Matthew 18:15-17). This is not judging, but rather pointing out the truth in hope—and with the ultimate goal—of bringing repentance in the other person (James 5:20) and restoration to the fellowship. We are to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). We are to proclaim what God's Word says about sin. 2 Timothy 4:2 instructs us, "Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage — with great patience and careful instruction." We are to "judge" sin, but always with the goal of presenting the solution for sin and its consequences—the Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:6).
