Foolishness

By Rick Galarneau - Ricky G

Dear ones,

The Bible informs us in 1 Cor 1:18 that "the Message of the Cross is Foolishness to those who are perishing."

This should lead us to ask "What is the Message of the Cross?" Fret not, inquiring minds, and read:

The Message of the Cross

  • In the Beginning the second person of the Trinity, Jesus Christ, made the Universe and everything in it:
Heb 1:2 "...His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds"

  • After He spoke everything else into existence He created Man:
Gen 1:27 "...in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."
Notice: God created man just the way we are, we did not evolve into man.

  • Man sinned thus ushering in a Sinful Nature for all Men:
Rom 5:12,18 - "Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned ...Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation"

  • We are workers of Iniquity (sin) and we will get our Wages:
Rom 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death…"

  • Death will soon be cast into the Lake of Fire:
Rev 20:14 - "Then Death and Hades were cast into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death."

  • God loves us and provided a Remedy— a way of Escape:
Rom 5:8 - "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

  • What must you do to be Saved from God's Wrath (Rom 2:5-11) and enter into His rest?

Repent and Trust in Jesus Christ! (Acts 17:30-31, Mark 1:15, Luke 13:3)

Does any of this sound like Foolishness to you? I hope not. If ANY of this sounds like Foolishness, don’t wait until Tomorrow (2 Cor 2:6). Make today the day to throw yourself under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and:

Repent while there is still time!

Peace?

By Rick Galarneau - Ricky G

January 23, 2008

There are many people going around today speaking of PEACE— how they have Peace, and how they intend to make Peace, and to find Peace, etc.

Loved ones, verily I say unto you that there will be NO PEACE on Earth as long as it continues to be ruled by the "prince of the power of the air".

Eph 2:1-3 (NKJV) And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

I was once a child of wrath walking according to the mandates of the prince of this world (satan).

The only Peace one can hope to see is the PEACE that comes out of a RIGHT RELATIONSHIP with your Maker— Jesus Christ.

Rom 8:6 For to be CARNALLY MINDED is DEATH, but to be SPIRITUALLY MINDED is LIFE AND PEACE.

John 1:1-5 (NKJV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

John 1:14 (NKJV) And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His Glory, the Glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Genuine Christian vs The Counterfeit— An SO4J Minute

Posted By Martha Mac

November 17, 2007

By John MacArthur— The New Testament Commentary

(Re: A Lukewarm Person) "A professed Christian who turns His back on Jesus Christ and refuses to Suffer for His sake was not a True Believer in the first place. (Re: True Believer)— A person who genuinely belongs to Christ may sometimes falter and be disobedient, but he will never reject His Lord. The person who belongs to Christ continues to Confess Him, to Serve Him, and to Suffer for Him when that is necessary. He does not endure because of his own strength and fortitude but because he is indwelt by Christ’s own Spirit, who never fails to give sustaining Grace to God’s children…

(Re: Lukewarm Person — They will put their hand to the plow of Discipleship, but they will NOT forsake the old life, demonstrating that they have never received the new. They are therefore not "fit for the Kingdom of God," Jesus said, because their Hearts have never been with Him (Luke 9:57-62).

Luke 9:57-62 As they were walking along, someone said to Jesus, “I will follow you wherever you go.” But Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head.” He said to another person, “Come, follow me.” The man agreed, but he said, “Lord, first let me return home and bury my father.” But Jesus told him, “Let the spiritually dead bury their own dead! Your duty is to go and preach about the Kingdom of God.” Another said, “Yes, Lord, I will follow you, but first let me say good-bye to my family.” But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.”

Luke 9:23-26 "Then Jesus said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be My Follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow Me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for My sake, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but are yourself lost or destroyed? If anyone is ashamed of Me and My message, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when He returns in His Glory and in the Glory of the Father and the Holy Angels.”

Are You Afraid To Talk To People About Jesus?

By Rick Galarneau - Ricky G

November 7, 2007

Do you ever cower when a Brother or Sister in the Lord openly shares their Faith with others? Does it make you want to run and hide? I'll admit that I am guilty of this at times. Why is this? Are we concerned about what the Hell bound World's opinion of us is?

Loved ones we need not be concerned with the world's view of us as they are incapable of even understanding us.

John 1:5 (NKJV) "And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it."

Be not concerned with what the world thinks. Their opinions are passing away with their souls.

1 John 2:8 (NKJV) "Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining."

What then shall we be concerned with? THEIR SALVATION!

We need to take a lesson from the Apostle Paul whom God Almighty used to lay the foundation of His church who penned:

Eph 6:18-20 (NKJV) "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the Saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the Gospel, for which I am an Ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak."

If you are indeed a Child of God verily He desires to dwell with you and the only reason He is keeping you here is to proclaim His Truths for the Glory of His Holy Name so boldly go out and fulfill His Great Commission Christian Soldier.

Repent while there is still time!

Are You In A Cult?

By Rick Galarneau - Ricky G

October 25, 2007

One of the main characteristics of a Cult is that it has a leader. A man or woman who contrived a path they felt it good to follow. Some of these leaders have even used God's Holy Word the Bible as a basis and proceeded to twist, remove or add to parts or the whole to derive their guidelines. Some of these leaders in question include:

- Joseph Smith, Jr - The Latter Day Saints—The Mormons
- L. Ron Hubbard - Church of Scientology
- Muhammad - Islam
- Pope - Roman Catholicism
- Ed Smith - Theophostic Prayer Ministry
- Charles Taze Russell - Jehovah's Witnesses

Some of these cults actually present the Gospel. Therefore it is possible for someone to actually get saved while in a cult because the Gospel is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.

Rom 1:16 "I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God for the Salvation of everyone who believes." (NKJV)

Do You Consider Yourself Smart?

By Rick Galarneau - Ricky G

September 28, 2007

Do you have an AA? A BA? Perhaps an MBA.

Have you learned much from your travels afar? Did you pass the Bar?

Do you know how to navigate the sea? Do you possess a Doctorate in Divinity?

Loved ones. These do not impress God almighty unless you first Fear Him and Obey His commandments for as the inspired Psalmist David notes:

Psalm 111:10
"The Fear of the LORD is the beginning of Wisdom;A good understanding have all those who do His Commandments."

How wise are you?

Do you even know God's Commandments?

Examine Yourself

By Rick Galarneau - Ricky G

August 16, 2007

Do you know if you are going to Heaven the second you enter into eternity?  It could happen today.

I implore you to examine yourself by reviewing the following Bible Verses—

1 John 1:6-10 says, "If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us."

1 John 2:3-4 says, "Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.  He who says, “I know Him,” and does NOT keep His commandments, is a LIAR, and the truth is not in him."

Know this—

Rev. 21:8 says, "All LIARS shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." (NKJV)

Justification & Sanctification

By Rick Wagner

July 9, 2007

It appears to me as more and more evident that the majority of those who call themselves “Christian” are in reality False Converts who think it is enough just to say the “Sinner’s Prayer” or “Accept Jesus In Their Heart” and continue in their old nature’s sinful ways.  Obviously they don’t know what Repentance means.

The SO4J Teaching called "40 Signs of a “No Compromise” Christian" are some of the evidences of a truly Born Again, Repentant Christian.  Satan loves “easy believism”, because it is the most sinister of all evils – people thinking they are Saved from Hell, when they are not.

James 2:18-20 says, "You believe that God is one, you do well, the demons also believe and shudder."

Yes, Jesus accomplished all that was required to pay the price for our Salvation, however to truly be His Disciple, we have to be willing to give up our lives for Him (Luke 9:23-25).

Many are confused between these two things—

1 - JUSTIFICATION - Eph. 2:8-9 "It is by grace we have been saved through faith..."

2 - SANCTIFICATION - means to growing in holiness—living out that faith - Eph. 2:10 continues to say, "...created in Christ Jesus for Good Works, that God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them."

Sanctification will reveal external evidences of those who are truly Justified.

You cannot have true faith without outward evidences.

James 2:14-26 says, "faith without works is useless (dead)." and Galatians 5:22-25 says, "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control..."

"50 Signs of a “No Compromise” Christian" is a very good list to look at.

2 Cor 13:5 says, "Test yourselves to see if we are in the faith, examine yourselves."

We are to be sure we are biblically saved from Hell (see also 1st John) and not just think we’re saved, living anyway we want.  The list called 50 Signs of a “No Compromise” Christian is not HOW to be Saved, but is rather a guideline to make sure we are truly saved and not just deceived into thinking we are, when we are not.

We don’t want anyone to stand before Jesus on Judgment Day thinking we “know” Him and are saved, and then to have Jesus telling us, “I never knew you, depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.”  (Matt. 7:21-23).

Gal 5:19-21 (Fruits of the Flesh - gives us a list of what is “worldly") says, "Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will NOT inherit the Kingdom of God."

A truly humble, repentant, obedient Christian will be constantly growing and asking God to reveal that which is in their lives they need to “pluck out” or “cut off” (Mark 9:43-47) because their passionate desire is to "love God with ALL of their heart, soul, mind, and strength" (Mark 12:30, 31).

As True Believers we should be constantly "disciplining ourselves for the purpose of godliness" (1 Tim. 4:7).

Matt 7:13-14 Jesus says, "The gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life and there are few who find it"

(Also Read Luke 13:23-28).

Let us always "stimulate one another to love and good deeds" (Heb. 10:24) and also "encourage and build up one another" (1 Thess. 5:11).

Gal 2:20 says, "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me."

If it truly is no longer myself who lives, but Christ living me, the things in this list will become more and more evident in our lives. We will become more like Jesus and there will be definite and obvious changes from what our old nature produced in our lives. This is something that Truly Repentant, Converted, Saved Believers will desire, and they won't look for excuses and opportunities to go back to their old worldly lives.

1 Tim. 6:11 says “Flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.”

Is the United States the Savior of the World?

By Rick Galarneau - Ricky G

June 1, 2007

Was the war effort in Iraq justified?  Any rational person can see that there are several valid arguments that can be asserted on both sides of this issue.  One that the media does not report is that under the reign of Saddam Hussein there was a mandate that no new churches be constructed in that nation.  This mandate no longer exists.  The United States may be limited in what it can achieve in Iraq but sisters and brothers our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is most certainly not limited in what He can achieve.  He breathed the universe into existence and His power knows no bounds.  One such new church constructed in Baghdad is led by t
he Godly Pastor Ghassan Thomas the building hails a large sign boldly shining in a downtown neighborhood proudly reading "Jesus is the Light of the World Church".  Hundreds regularly gather for worship in the war torn city.

While United State's might and diplomacy may not ultimately lead to a fruitful national co-existence imagine what is possible as more Iraqis hear the gospel, repent of their sins and come on bended knee confessing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior!

Loved ones, God Almighty desires that none of His creation perishes:

2 Peter 3:9 " The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."

By choosing our love for our sins over our Creator's love for us we are sealing our own destiny and a bleak one it is indeed for those who reject the free gift the Father has offered through the shed blood of His only begotten Son and refusing to repent.

A time is coming when our just Judge is returning to pronounce His judgment on the living AND the dead.

Let's all— Repent while there is still time!

God's Commandments Are Perfect To Save Our Souls

By Tom Bedford

May 4, 2007

Psalm 19:7 "The Law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul" (Law = God's Commandments)

Jesus spent His life witnessing out of total obedience to His Father.  Yet, what many people may not know (I used to be one of them) is that He used only 1 way to witness: by using the 10 Commandments.  He would use a few of them to show someone his/her sin.  Believe it or not, many people who say they know what sin is actually don't (again, I was one of them).  Yet, the 10 Commandments activate our conscience and show us to be wretched, miserable people at heart, always desiring to go after our own lusts if not for the Lord.

When Christ used the 10 commandments and someone rejected the idea that they were a sinner, they got angry at Jesus and walked away.  Note that Christ never said, "Well, just receive me" or "Well, just accept me" or "Well, just say this sinner's prayer" or something else.  They just kept walking away and if they didn't repent, they went to the Lake of Fire forever and forever as the Bible warns.  Many people might say, "Jesus used many ways to win people over--through miraculous healings, loving words, raising people from the dead.  The 10 Commandments are not the only way."  The truth is, however, Jesus merely used these miracles (including walking on water, feeding the 5,000 and even raising Himself from the dead) to show people His power as God and get their attention. But, just because they were attracted to His power didn't actually save them.  That is why in the Gospel of John, after Jesus just got done feeding 5,000 people and then walking on the water, He said, "You people are following me because you had the bread and had all you could eat, not because you understood my miracles." He was referring to their sin.  They still had not been convicted in the heart and thus, had not repented.  They would still die in their sins and go to the Lake of Fire.  There is only 1 way to be saved: Repenting of all sin and Trusting in Christ through ALL Trials and Tribulations.

Please, do your friends and enemies an ETERNAL favor TODAY.  Get out Exodus chapter 20, memorize the 10 Commandments and use them daily to keep someone away from the heat of the flames.

Too Early To Think About '08?

Too early to think about The Presidential Election in '08?
Source

The field is split on another issue, with Brownback, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo raising their hands when moderator Chris Matthews asked who did not believe in Evolution.

I guess this would mean that Giuliani, McCain and Romney think we come from monkeys.

Why is it that those who think we come from animals are so surprised when we act like animals?

Racism

By Rick Galarneau - Ricky G

February 13, 2007

Genesis 1:27 says "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."

Ever wonder who answers questions for those polls you always hear about.  I am actually one of these surveyed.  Some of the questions are strange like "How often do you shop at Walmart?".  There is one question that I always find exceedingly offensive.  It basically asks me what color I am.  The fact that I am lacking melanin does not make any difference in my brain function.  I am not white.  The color of my skin is the result of the amount of melanin my body makes.

When God poured out His wrath on the people of Noah's day He spared only Noah and his family, therefore, you and I are all descendants of this select few. The bottom line is we need to stop seeing people as a color.

Salvation is for all who Repent of their Sins and Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ!

As noted by Simeon in Luke 2 "For my eyes have seen Your salvation, which You have prepared before the face of all peoples, a light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel.”

The next time someone asks you what color you are, tell them that you were made in God's own image.

Confess Your Sins & Pray For One Another

By Rick Galarneau - Ricky G

January 16, 2007

James 5:16 - "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective."

Here James is speaking to Christians whom have already had their sin debt paid.  Why bother continue confessing your sins? The main reason is simply because God's Holy Word the Bible tells us to.  Also by confessing your sins to fellow believers they can and should pray for your continued repentance.

Some of my Brothers and Sisters in the Lord Jesus Christ have never confessed any sins to me, past or present.  Does this mean that they do not confess any sins to other Brothers and Sisters?  By not confessing them to any believer they will not receive the prayers from fellow saints for that growth in holiness especially regarding that particular issue.  I need as much prayer for me as possible from those in Christ!  (As a matter of fact pray for me now if you are able)  It may also cast a shadow of doubt of their salvation for if we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the Truth is not in us.  When people speak openly with me about their sin it actually encourages me that they are indeed saved thus enabling me to transition the conversation to more "meat-eating topics" that the book of Hebrews calls mature Christians to.

Are You A Thief?

By Rick Galarneau - Ricky G

January 4, 2007

1 Cor 6:9-10 - "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God."

Are you a thief?  God takes this seriously!  Stealing is a sin.  The wage of sin is Death.  Exodus 20:15 states "You shall not steal." It is one of the Ten Commandments.

I remember stealing a smurf when I was five.  Remember the first time you stole?  Well that was a long time ago but are we still stealing?

Do you get a few channels on your cable TV that you do not pay for?  Do you ever cheat on your taxes?  Do you claim all of your tips?  When was the last time you burned a CD for your friend?  Do you tape your favorite TV show?  Ever bring a pen home from work.  How about a box of tissue?  A legal pad?  Do you send out personal letters with office envelopes?  Ever take something from the lost and found that did not belong to you?  Are you still living in sin?

Time is running out.  Repent while you still can. Keep Looking Up!

Is Psychology of the Devil?

By "Ricky G" - Rick Galarneau

December 21, 2006

Loved Ones, I deeply urge you to consider whether the Study of Psychology is of God or of the Dragon known of old as the serpent, or th
e Devil.

Today Bookstores throughout the world are filled with Self Help books based on Psychology intended to cure a vast array of mental and spiritual infirmities.

Is God's Holy Word, the Bread of Life known as the Holy Bible not sufficient for His children?

Psychology defines one symptom of Depression as not having any desire to do the things that you used to want to do.  Friends, I  have very little desire to do things that I used to want to do.  Does this mean I need a wonder drug?  Does this mean I am suffering from depression?  Certainly not!

For what place does the darkness have with the Light?  What the dark calls depression the Light may just call repentance. As the LORD lives I tell you Christ is coming again!  Go tell it on the mountain!

Will We All Be Worshipping Santa and his "spirit" This Christmas?

By Tom Bedford

December 14, 2006

Friends,

Will we all be worshipping Santa and his "spirit" this year?

If it angers you that many unrepentant people within the "Church" today desire to act just like the Unsaved, Hell-bound World, I strongly urge you with Love and Gentleness to do as the Bible commands all of us and give up "lukewarmness" by removing all pagan idols that lead to corruption.  If we say what the ancient Egyptian and Babylonian societies said, "They're not idols!  It's just entertainment and fun for the kids", then listen to your conscience as Jesus strongly rebukes us and tells us that we may be in danger of not being saved from the lake of fire in hell, if we don't Repent of all Sin and live for Him:

Rev. 3:15-17"I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot [lukewarm]. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked."

Dictionary Defines Santa As—Ancestor Worship
Function: noun ... the custom of venerating, revering; honoring deceased Ancestors who are considered still a part of the family and whose spirits are believed to have the power to intervene in the affairs of the living.

Exodus 20:3-6 "You must not have any other god but me. You must not make for yourself an idol [Santa Claus] of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me. But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands."

2 Cor 10:5 Paul said "We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ."

Let's stop making a "decision for Santa" and Repent of all Sin. If our conscience knows it is Sinful to Worship Idols and we believe Santa is an Idol yet we don't desire to get rid of it, aren't we really saying that we would prefer to rearrange the letters of S-A-N-T-A into our TRUE master?

God Bless!
